Reflection on Activities

Omar's Blog: Reflection on Activities
Having completed the given activities thus far, I will like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Anne Gordon for her astute devotion and willingness given to this project. It is very challenging and interesting which makes the use of ICT more user friendly. I will expect to be further challenged as we go through the rest of the modules and hope that after the entire duration of this programme, we as teachers will be able to depart the skills and knowledge developed from these modules to enhance our students in their development forward. I will like to also thank Gerald Roos for his contribution in launching this remarkable programme.

Making ICT Work

Omar's CCTI Blog: Making ICT Work
The public recognition of ICT and related skills are vital to employability is affecting both the redesign of quality educational systems and the role of educators. A particular challenge is how schools can be leveraged to serve more learners in settings both in and outside the formal classroom. The use of modular instructional systems and the infusion of ICT has helped in this process to supplement traditional instructor delivered training. Therefore from a ICT perspective, remember ICT is a concept that is used in several disciplines in slightly different ways. One common view regards ICT as the application of scientific knowledge or other organized knowledge to solve practical problems. ICT can then be viewed as the bridge between research and practice as it strives to make performance of tasks easier.

Integration of the Word Processor

Omar's CCTI Blog: Integration of the Word Processor

WAYS IN WHICH THE WORD PROCESSOR CAN BE USED BY STUDENTS, FOR LEARNING:

OM – Word Processing is the preparation of documents on a computer. A computer must have a program of instructions telling it what to.
The Word Processor can be used by students for:
• editing and creating documents.
• Write short or long documents
• Prepare school projects
• Reports
• Letters to friends
• To-do-lists
• Store document electronically
• Display document on screen
• Modify document
• Print document
Word Processor can also make changes without re-typing the entire document. If you make a typing mistake, you simple back up the cursor and correct your mistake. If you want to delete a paragraph, you simply remove it, without leaving a trace. Word Processors also make it easy to move sections of a text from one place to another within a document or between documents.
